Life Slides

I recentlt had a picture of how God journeys with us through life. I watched a huge inflatable slide as fathers and sons got up and slide down over and over again. Each time the same wide eyed excitement and smiles filled the air. Occasionally there was the scared kid who cried their way down…but they were fine as they arrived at the bottom to a big embrace from their father.

The picture I saw through it all was an image of our heavenly father. How He goes down the slides of life with us. Gently bringing us to the slides that are going to lead is the right way, but ultimately letting us decide the slides we want to ride. Some slides lead us down to trouble. Some take us off track. Some lift us up and over to where we need to be.

One thing is certain, God our father rides down everyone with us. He’s there with a safe warm embrace on the ride that leave us in fear. He always there with us, enjoying the ride.

Steadfast Love

Following God, being a true disciple requires committment, follow-through, and faithfulness. When you look in Chronicles, it’s easy to get all pumped up to make a turn towards God…a move to repentance. But, when we don’t lay it all on the altar, when we don’t look for all the false idols/distractions…when we don’t continue to crucify our selfish desires, we allow the enemy a foothold to creep back in. We fall back to being warm, not pumped up and hot for God.

As in Chronicles, it usually ends with a fall back to where we were. Which is always further away from God. It happens subtly, before we know it we are distant.

God’s love is steadfast…always red hot for us. His promise…is independant of anything we try to earn or achieve. His truth, His DNA, His charecter, is Love. We bow down to a God who is Love.

I Belong

I’m working on global marketing plans today, which has me thinking about all the worship leaders I have the opportunity to work with around the world. One in particular, Mrs. Kathryn Scott, is the model of beautiful person with a heart for God.

I’ve seen her lead thousands of people into the presence of God through worship…then 20 minutes later on the way back to the hotel, take a moment to usher in His presence amongst a handful at a the mose beautiful vista in Washington. She is the real deal, and I love this truth she proclaims in the the song “I Belong.” Enjoy,

The New Computer…The New OS

Just in case you haven’t seen the news yet or heard your friends talking about it…there’s a new computer and new OS on the scene. Apple with their iPhone can give you 500 million people who agree.

With Google making in roads with the G1 phone and their android application platform…and Blackberry with the new Storm phone that is really pushing their RIM application platform…The new computer is your mobile phone. The new OS is your application platform.

Apple has become a game changer again as their spotlight on the mobile application world is bringing awareness and consumer base to the next level. They have Google and Blackberry scrambling to respond tot he surge of application demand. The apps that fit your lifestyle will become the new monitor display you spend hours in front of… I love it, this new computer is everywhere I go!

Do Justice

I’m sitting here, close to being brain fried from a week that has been a productive and draining week.

I’m flipping through the latest issue of Relevant magazine and this North Park University (Chicago) ad struck me.

Do Justice …don’t serve it, stand up for it…but do it. Justice is an action. It’s a lifestyle. It’s every person’s calling. It starts with the little things. It starts now.
